Welcome to Hiawathamr Trainz Add-ons!

I’m Hiawathamr (owner of HTA) – a solo content creator for the game called Trainz that specializes in creating routes and sessions. As my Trainz username suggests, I’m a fan of the Milwaukee Road railroad from my dad’s side.

It all started with a copy of Ultimate Trainz Collection (UTC) from Office Max in 2008/09 when I started making routes in the game. Other versions of Trainz came into the picture in the following years (TRS2006, TS2010, TS12, etc) with Shortline Railroad being the first payware release for TANE in 2017.

In 2014 I’ve uploaded a test route that is (and currently) 100% incomplete was codename <kuid:605579:1001> Island Of Sodor Route 1. Why did I even name a test route like that? Well as the name suggested, I wanted to make my own version but quickly lost interest and instead of deleting it, wanted to see how uploading to the Download Station worked. One of these times that KUID will get replaced with something better but enjoy the little lol. Before I get a ton of messages from TTTE fans, no, I have no plans on making the Island Of Sodor and in fact, there are better versions out there anyway.

The first completed content ever released via the Download Station was a TS12 route called ‘The BNSF Line Complete Route’ that contained 16 sessions. While it was decent back then, it isn’t up to the standards that are of today. The full list of our freeware selection can be found on the Trainz Download Station or on the Freeware page.

Since 2017, I’ve been mainly specializing in payware side of Trainz after a successful release of my first payware route “Shortline Railroad”.  This was the only route I knew I had a backup in cdp formats, so I figured to give it a quick update to TANE standards and give it a test run on the payware side. Personally, I didn’t expect it to pass as there were better payware routes available, but it didn’t stop me from trying.  It passed beta testing and was approved and eventually released for everyone to purchase.

To be honest, I never knew I would be making money from a hobby game that I played and made / edit routes for the fun of it.

2021 was the year I’ve started creating content for the mobile version of Trainz (TS3) offering both payware and freeware content with Shortline Railroad being the first mobile payware route.

In September 2024, HTA acquired the right to rehost and re-release SRS Trainz content and keeping them updated as much as possible. These can be found under the Freeware section.
