As some of you know, SRS Trainz has closed their doors due to busy life situations that require more of his attention which is understandable, and we all should respect his decision and thanking him for the amazing content he offered at SRS Trainz. While SRS Trainz has pulled into the last station at their original home, it isn’t the end of the journey.
Effective as of 19 September 2024, all SRS Trainz content ownership has been transferred over from the original owner and creator of all SRS Trainz content to their new home on the Hiawathamr Trainz Add-ons (HTA) website under new ownership (hiawathamr.

We’ve been in contact for the past few days discussing and accepting the terms and conditions and other things for the said content ownership transaction.

Now I know you might have questions, so I’ve prepared a couple of possible questions and answers. You are however more than welcomed to contact me using the details provided on the “Contact Us” page.

Possible questions and answers:

Q: can you share some of the details of the transfer?
A: majority of the details between SRS Trainz and myself (HTA) are strictly confidential due to personal information and being a legal document. I can however briefly touch that I’ll oversee all the operations going forward with the SRS Trainz content.

Q: wait! So, the content won’t be vapourware?
A: nope the content won’t become vapourware at all. We know that when a 3^rd party Trainz site closes, there is a 99% chance of all the content becoming vapourware with a 1% chance of the content being permitted to be rehosted somewhere else (once permission has been obtained).

Q: will you continue to use SRS Trainz branding?
A: yes the SRS Trainz branding will be used as majority of us Trainzers will always refer the content as SRS Trainz.

 Q: will the payware content be made available as payware or as freeware?
A: There might be a chance the payware content will be retired and be released as freeware in the future.

Q: if you make the payware freeware, can I get a refund for the items paid when they were payware on SRS Trainz? A: no refunds will be issued for all past purchases as they are all digital and anyone can photoshop a purchase receipt. Remember that before 19 Sept. 2024, it was under different ownership.

Q: I received permission directly from SRS Trainz before the transfer happened. What will happen with my permissions?
A: on the SRS Trainz webpage (once made and goes live) will have detailed explanations and examples. Please be sure to check this page out.

Q: how soon can we expect the content be released?
A: it can take several weeks to a month or two and here is why. All content will be checked for all dependencies in the game they have been made for originally (TS12) to make sure there aren’t any unknown dependencies. 
Once it passes the original Trainz version, they will again be tested in the latest version of Trainz (currently TRS22).
Once all testing and checks has been completed, it’ll be uploaded and made available when the website gets updated. Be sure to check back often.

Q: can I help test the content out?
A: at this time, I'm not going to be accepting any beta testers.

Q: oh goodie! I can do whatever I want!
A: umm no that’s now things work… everything is still copyrighted regardless of ownership changing. 

Q: since you are a heavy DLS user, will the content be uploaded to the DLS?
A: at this point, there are no plans on uploading to the DLS.
